  Water Curriculum Calendar

 

The calendar below is to support teachers in planning for teaching the Water FOSS Science Kit. Use the calendar links below to identify: big science ideas, key standard targets for each lesson, and assessments. 

   

Week 1 - Water Observations Do all liquids behave like water?  How does soap and salt affect water surface tension?  How does the size of the drop affect its motion on a slope?

Week 2 and 3 - Hot & Cold Water  How does heat energy change the water?  How do we change liquids to solids?

Week 4 and 5 - Water Vapor How is an observation different than an inference?  Where does water go when it evaporates?  How does surface area affect evaporation?

Week 6 - Waterworks What holds more water gravel or soil?  Can you design a water wheel that can lift a weight?

Week 7 & 8 - Waterworks  Can you use evidence to describe how people effect the water quality in our community?  Can you design your own investigation about water?
