Literacy
To be ready for college, workforce training, and life in a technolgical society, students need the ability to gather, comprehend, evaluate, synthesize, report on, and create a high volume and extensive range of print and nonprint texts in media forms old and new. Students need to be proficient in reading complex informational text independently and in a variety of content areas. Additionally, students need to be able to write to persuade, explain, and to convey real or imagined experience.
